my 8 wardrobe essentials

No1 - THE LEATHER JACKET: I have never seen anyone look bad in leather. Period.

No2 - THE SCARF : During winter, I couldn't care less if I look like puff ball, but I would rather walk around feeling slightly warm around town. If you're wild about scarves and intending to buy one or two staples. I strongly, strongly suggest Louis Vuitton and Alexander McQueen scarves. They are the best!

NO3 - THE MAXI DRESS: I don't care whether it's going to be in and out of style because I've embedded maxi dresses as a staple into my wardrobe. I wear it when I'm simply too lazy to accessorize, mix and match and basically just a quick wardrobe fix. I pair my maxi dress with any shoe possible because I feel that it goes with anything. I recommend Issa, Zimmerman and of course our favourite high street brand, H&M.

No4 - THE FUR COAT/VEST/JACKET: I absolutely cannot live without fur. I feel that with fur you can create a lot of looks, of course depending on your own style. I love pairing a shirt, fur vest, jeans and boots for that Bohemian vibe, or a maxi dress over a fur coat.

No5 - THE WHITE SHIRT: If you wear it right, you can do the 'menswear for women' look to perfection on a very regular basis. Center yourself around the classic wardrobe staple - the white button down shirt. May it be cotton or silk - both are equally stylish and guess what, its such a closet staple, it will never run out of style.

No6 - THE CARDIGAN: Essential for a girl like me who is always feeling cold. Its simple, fits all body types, chic and a really easy layer transition from summer to winter. I personally love to pull it over a cute spring dress, or over a long top with leggings. I don't have a particular brand to recommend for cardigans as you can get many nice ones everywhere.

No7 - THE TRENCH: Whatever brand it may be, a classic trench is a must. I live by it and its almost a staple in my wardrobe. I must say, if you have the extra moolah, please invest in a Burberry - it fits like a glove and you can make necessary alterations to fit your body type. If not, Zara is always a pretty good second option.

No8 - THE JEAN: I can't think of anyone who can't live without having a pair of jeans in their closet. May it be white, blue, pink, skinny, flare, straight - everyone has a pair. Ultimately though, find a pair (or more) that you feel most comfortable with (something with stretch helps). I personally recommend J Brand, Zara and Uniqlo.

What is more important is how and what you pair it with. I personally love pairing my pair of jeans with a good basic tee and a structured blazer or tweed jacket - one can never go wrong with tweed. Definitely wear heels for that polished look or slippers which is the hot thing now.

Hope you've enjoyed one of my longest post thus far. Have a good weekend!

must see: chanel une promenade x harrods

"One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things." - Henry Miller.

Sneak peek at Chanel’s fantastical adventure at Harrods - the 3rd floor installation ‘Une Promenade’ – which explores ‘Coco in Wonderland’ through a series of beautifully designed rooms exploring Coco’s signature 2.55 bag through to the iconic No5 scent.

beauty: green glitter nails

How much do I love Alexa's nails? Enough to want to dip my nails in pots and pots of green glitter right now. The look was courtesy of nail artist Naomi Yasuda who studied the art of manicure and nail design at Chunichi Beauty College in Nagoya, Japan before moving to New York.

travel inspiration: bali

My favourite thing is to look back at photographs of past trips -- so many memories and beautiful moments captured forever.
sleep.
ayana resort and spa bali , uluwatu: escape the urban landscape and retreat at ayana. 78 free-standing, cliff-top Bali luxury villas are set in traditional Balinese compounds with private pools surrounded by tropical gardens designed to ensure maximum seclusion.

kiss bali , seminyak : influences of 70's glam, echoing the glamorous style of the 70's with sleek architecture and 21st Century design, the villa stay is a journey into nostalgia but with a highly seductive, VIP experience

eat.
metis, seminyak: known to serve up the best French Mediterranean cuisine in bali

ibu oka , ubud: not a hidden secret but if you love pork just like me, this restaurants has all the pork you need. a must try - babi guling - think of crispy pig skin, spicy sauce and rice. you can't miss it! Located just across from the Ubud Tourist Information Center. Go early because once they sell out for the day, they close.

flapjacks , kuta /seminyak: it sounds weird to eat crepes, waffles and pancakes in Bali but this place serves very good gelatos and every thing that a sweet tooth will love! it opens till late so it is best for supper

there's nothing like home
